Pastor Alphonso N. Flowers is the Founding Pastor of the House of Prayer Tabernacle of Worship and Praise a strong growing congregation in Sacramento, California. Born and raised in Arizona, he was called to Sacramento in August of 1996 in his pursuit of God. After accepting the call to ministry, Pastor Flowers received his ministers license in the Church of God in Christ. In 2004 Pastor Flowers was ordained as an Elder and in November 2012 he was installed as Pastor under the California Northern First Jurisdiction, Bishop Albert Galbraith Jr. Prelate.
Married to Chanda Flowers, father of Tamar and Caleb Flowers, Pastor Flowers endeavors to be the man that God is calling for in this day and time. First Lady Chanda Flowers, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is the wife of Pastor Alphonso N. Flowers and is the first lady of the House of Prayer Tabernacle of Worship and Praise in Sacramento, Ca.
Lady Chanda is the youngest child of Dr. David M. Ancrum and Evangelist Blanche Ancrum and is no stranger to church. Born and raised in the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. David M. Ancrum, Lady Chanda has served in many capacities including church usher, worship leader, choir director, and guest psalmist just to name a few. Lady Chanda attributes her gift of singing to her mother, Evangelist Blanche Ancrum and matured into the anointed songbird that she is today. After several years of service at Sutter Health, the Lord blessed her to retire early to care for her father and to be an advocate for her children.
Lady Chanda strives to be an example of a virtuous woman -- a woman who has a heart for the sick and afflicted having persevered through the diagnosis, pain, and other challenges of Neuro Sarcoidosis. Lady Chanda has a passion for outreach and is the lead community service coordinator managing events such as door to door evangelism, feeding the homeless, and quarterly visits to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. She is the voice of the Oil of Joy Women’s Ministry and serves as a helpmate to her husband.
